End plate material. Electrical grade fiberglass sheet (GP03),3/8" thick, 12"x12", red, part #8549K372. McMaster-Carr. You can substitute other material for this.
Graphite for gas flow conductor plates. Specified graphite pieces can be ordered in five pound lots or more from Jim Sciuto. Also, local graphite companies often have discarded pieces that can be obtained quite cheaply from their scrap piles.
Silicone rubber for gasket and spacer material. Thin gauge silicone rubber .020" thick, 12"x12", 35A durometer, part #86435 K35. McMaster-Carr
Mylar sheet for membrane electrode assembly surround. Comes free as carrier sheets with the silicone rubber sheet (above).
Proton exchange membrane. 1 watt raw PEMbrane can be ordered from Element 1 Power Systems.
Binding posts. Insulated binding posts with banana jacks, part #274-661a, Radio Shack.
Sheet metal foil for electrodes. Nickel alloy foil, .010" thick, 4" width, plain, 1' length Part #8912K241, McMaster-Carr.
Screw fasteners, nuts, washers. Four-10-24x11/2" socket head cap screws. Four-10-24x11/2" hex nut, course thread. Eight 3/16" flat steel washers
Shrink tubing. 1/4" that shrinks to 1/8" or whatever you can find close to that. Local hardware stores, electrical suppliers, automotive suppliers and Radio Shack are good sources.
Barb splicer hose connectors. Can be found at well stocked hardware store. Small Parts Inc. has them available as well as other sources such as McMaster Carr. You will need two 1/8"x 1/8" barb splicer connectors. Get extras to have on hand in case of problems.
Silicone rubber adhesive sealant. Available at local hardware stores Click here for contact information for the suppliers mentioned.

You may find it helpful to print out the templates for this fuel cell now, so that you can refer to them as you read the directions. If you print them at your default printer setting (100%), they should print out at the correct size. Check them with a ruler to be sure - measurements are on the templates. There are 7 templates for the K18 fuel cell.
